Butterfly gardening in Florida

At the Florida Museum of Natural History, we are very passionate about reaching out in our local Gainesville community. Along with staff from the museum's McGuire Center for Lepidoptera & Biodiversity, we planted a butterfly garden at a local elementary school and taught the students about the butterfly life cycle!

BRINCC Education

BRINCC believes passionately in education about the rainforests of Borneo, teaching children of the wonders, threats and the need for conserving nature. That is why our education programmes are designed to teach school children not only about the rainforest but also about tropical ecology as a system, and to provide an understanding to the threats and conservation efforts in Borneo.

Our education programme puts quality before quantity, with every member of our expedition teams taking the time to go into schools to talk and teach directly about the rainforests of Borneo. Using our education activity booklet as a guide, we give talks and run activities based the ecology of the rainforest to educate and inspire. In addition, our education booklets, written by teachers for teachers, are specifically tailored to the national curriculum syllabus are free to download from our website: http://www.brinccborneo.org/resources.html
