BRINCC Expedition 2014

After years of planning and months in Indonesia, it's time for the 2014 BRINCC expedition to officially come to a close. It has been an eventful trip to say the very least - there are plenty of incredible photos and stories to share. Our field site in what I would call the most remote rainforest in the world is amazing as ever - teeming with some of the most impressive biodiversity on the planet. However, the region's forests face an unfathomable number of imminent threats as they lie on reserves of the world's finest coal, gold, timber, agarwood, diamonds and sapphires. It's definitely not always the most uplifting field in which to work. However, we are coming away from this expedition with new understandings of complex issues and have many new ideas for our current and future conservation efforts in Borneo. I would like to thank everyone who helped make this expedition possible, especially my team: Nick, Ian, Nads, Lary, Dini, Jana, & Eric, my fellow BRINCC Directors Dominic, Michal, Andrea & Susan, and everyone who helped us out along the way. It has certainly been an adventure. For more information on BRINCC's conservation work with local communities in central Borneo, check out our website: www.brinccborneo.org
